Mavericks Announces Partnership with Sony Ericsson
March 19, 2009
Mavericks today announced a new initiative with Sony Ericsson where they will be integrating mobile devices in to the world-famous, annual surf event.
"We are proud to welcome Sony Ericsson to the Mavericks family, and grateful for their support,” said Mavericks CEO Keir J. Beadling. "Sony Ericsson is an incredibly innovative company, and they will capture all of the breathtaking and spectacular action using their mobile devices on Contest Day. And as an environmentally responsible organization, we really appreciate Sony Ericsson’s strong efforts toward conservation and recycling.”
On Contest Day this season, spectators are encouraged to bring their old mobile phones to the Sony Ericsson tent to be recycled or take a minute and recharge their current mobile phones. All proceeds from the recycling program will be donated to helping the coastline. In addition, Mavericks spectators can experience the Sony Ericsson W760a Walkman® phone while they are on the beach and even get a memento of the event.
Sony Ericsson Walkman® phone’s unique features and cool applications promote the individuality and independence that embodies Mavericks. The W760a Walkman® phone features tilt control gaming, exceptional sound quality with built-in stereo speakers, and a 3.2 megapixel camera. It also has Bluetooth™ stereo streaming, AT&T Navigator GPS location services, AT&T Video Share, and 3G mobile internet for the fastest downloads. The W760a Walkman® phone is currently available at AT&T store locations nationwide.
