The Clif Bar Green Room Award

Awarded to the surfer who gets the longest barrel during each Mavericks Surf Contest®, as judged by fellow surfers out in the water.  Highly coveted by riders each year, CLIF Bar’s Green Room Award also highlights CLIF Bar’s efforts to “green” Mavericks Surf Contest and minimize the environmental impact of the event. In addition to these environmental initiatives, half of the Green Room Award money ($1,000 total) is donated to a surfing-related non-profit. Last year’s prize money went to Evan Slater and Save the Waves.
